Photo Essay: Letters

Photo Essay

It took me a while to come up with a topic for this assignment.  I wanted something that would look cohesive, but the photos were connected in a more abstract, not-so-obvious way.  At first glance, the subject is not easy to distinguish, but it becomes apparent after looking through all of the photographs.

I walked around campus and my dorm room looking for letters of any kind, and I attempted to capture them in a unique way: from a different angle, zoomed-in, etc.

  1. Rebecca,

I really like the individual textures each letter has in your photo essay. It’s really interesting to view and I think you had some really good ideas.

  2. Rebecca,
I enjoyed your use of such common, everyday real life objects. Each picture reminded me how such things can be overlooked.

  3. great use of the visuals of language. the alphabet as visual element with just a bit of abstraction is working well. and you’ve tied many varied shots together.

i think the doorway shot breaks the rhythm and doesn’t fit as well as the rest, while it’s a strong shot unto itself. good job.
